Registration
Information
The requirements on the documents differ depending on if you sign them with a qualified electronic signature conforming to the eIDAS regulation or with a handwritten signature. Please refer to our overview of requirements in the attached summary table on the right download list.
When registering, it is required to provide all necessary documents no later than 9 working days prior to the auction in which you intend to participate.
All electronically signed documents shall be submitted via JAO Support Hub, while all signed hard copies shall be sent via postal mail to JAO’s office.
Registration Steps
Step 1 – Creating your Support Hub account
For us to support you best in your future endeavours, you need to have access to the JAO Support Hub to be able to open tickets with us.
- Follow this link to have the full guide to registration. Go to support.jao.eu and select Register, then provide your company and contact details to request access.
Step 2 - Complete the onboarding flow
After signing in, you complete a guided six-step flow:
- Contact details – your company information and the contacts for the General correspondence, Financial, Operational and Commercial roles, plus your Primary Authorised Person.
- Auctions – choose whether to take part in explicit auctions and transfers of long-term transmission rights, or transfers only, and provide your corporate bank account details.
- Supporting documents – upload your Commercial Extract, Beneficial Owner Structure and Certificate of Bank Account details, each within its validity window, together with the required identification documents.
- Allocation rules – accept the allocation rules for the borders you wish to participate on.
- Generate agreements – JAO generates your Participation Agreement, and your Financial Agreement if applicable. Choose a signature method: handwritten (returned by post), electronic (QES), or DocuSign.
- Closure – complete your submission. JAO reviews it for completeness, requests anything still outstanding, and — once everything is in order — countersigns and returns your agreement(s).
Documents that are not in English must be accompanied by a certified English translation, and electronic signatures are accepted only where a qualified electronic signature (QES) is used. For handwritten signatures, return the signed originals by post to:
JAO S.A.
2 rue de Bitbourg
L-1273 Luxembourg-Hamm
Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
Step 3 – After registration
Once your registration is complete, the following can be arranged through the Support Hub:
- Registering users to the Allocation Tool (eCAT).
- Providing a bank guarantee as collateral.
- Access to ING Inside Business for read-only statements, and Inside Business Payments for withdrawing available funds.
See the Registration Guide for the documents required and the details of each.
Adding users to the JAO Support Hub
The person who initiates the registration automatically receives a JAO Support Hub account. Additional users for your company are added by creating a request through the Support Hub, and JAO will add them shortly after receiving it. A new role, Primary Authorised Contact, will be introduced soon: that person will be able to add new users directly, without needing to raise a request.
Requesting a user account in the trading platform
In order to create a user account in our Allocation Tool (eCAT), we need to receive the following documents:
- User Account form
- Electronically filled forms can be accepted with handwritten or valid electronic signatures (all the signatures should be in the same format).
- It has to be signed by the user and the company representative(s) (just like Participation and Financial Agreements)
- We accept digital copies
- The public part of the electronic certificate.
- Information about the certificate requirements as well as the approved certificate issuing authorities can be found here.
Credit limit
You can credit your ING account with enough capital to be able to bid on your desired auctions, or set up a bank guarantee to serve as collateral.
